Concertini
THE BEST CHAMBER MUSIC HAS TO OFFER, EVERY FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT LA MONNAIE
In February, the Concertini go all out! With their large line-ups and exceptional programmes, no less than 3 of our chamber music concerts take place in the spacious Fiocco Room (Rue Léopold 23).
On 3 February, flutist Carlos Bruneel will play his farewell concert at La Monnaie, after an impressive career of more than 40 years in our orchestra; he was given 'carte blanche' for the programme and brings together his musical 'friends' with one of his favourite composers: Joseph Jongen. A week later, our wind players take heart in an adaptation of Tchaikovsky's evergreen The Nutcracker, and on February 17 it's time for the first Wildcard of the season: countertenor Logan Lopez presents 555: Verlaine en prison, a recital featuring French songs and texts by Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud and others. Our brass septet completes the line-up with accessible music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and others.
