Dancers/performers (F, X)

De Munt I La Monnaie is looking for dancers/performers (F, X) for a new opera production ‘MEDUSA’, directed by Lydia Steyer  

Wanted profile: 

• Female performers (F, X) by preference with training in contemporary dance. 
• Inventive and open mindset 
• Physically strong – proficient in a good technique de ‘porter’, able to lift other performers, singers, etc. in an ergonomical/efficient way. 
• Able/willing to move set pieces such as walls and props: in your role as “fate”: you’ll create the reality of the characters in the story. 

Good to know: 

• 06 December 2025, a casting session will take place for the pre-selected candidates in the studios of La Monnaie.  
• The production period:   rehearsal period between 24 March and 3 May 2026 at La Monnaie: 
  • from 24 march until 16 april (10h-18h, from tuesday until sunday included.). 
  • from 17 april until 03 May (14h-22h, from tuesday until saturday- on sunday 10h-18h)   
• 7 performances at the La Monnaie theatre in Brussels:                        
  • On 5, 7, 9, 12 and 15 May 2026 at 7.30 p.m.
  • and on 17 May 2026 at 3 p.m.   

Suitable candidates should preferably reside in Brussels or the surrounding area.
