1. Reasons for processing personal data
1.1. Purchase of a product

When you buy a product from us, we ask you to provide at least the following data:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Your language preference

This personal data is gathered and processed in order to provide you with the best possible service. We request this data in connection with the following objectives: sending your e-ticket, identifying you in the event of your ticket being lost, receiving practical details in respect of the product you purchase, and communication in your preferred language.

This is, moreover, the minimum information we need in order to contact you in the event of a cancellation or a change of programme.

We can also use certain data on legitimate grounds, that is, if we want to offer you, as a customer, an individualised service. Data we might request includes:

  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Gender

We use this data for specific services: sending your ticket by post, offering discounts on the basis of your age, making contact by telephone for an urgent communication, and surveying our public. We can also use your personal data to keep you informed of our activities through online newsletters, our brochure, or our magazine. You can always object to this and / or withdraw your consent.

La Monnaie stores your (personal) data for a maximum of 6 years after your last purchase.

1.2. Use of our website

When you use our website(s), you automatically download cookies. These are small files on your computer. Most major websites do this.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Which cookies do we use?

There is a script on the website of La Monnaie that creates Google Analytics cookies in your browser. While doing this, Google Analytics anonymises your IP address by not registering its last eight figures. To guarantee the proper security of your details, La Monnaie has concluded a processor agreement with Google.

Our website also includes sound files from Soundcloud and videos from YouTube. These embedded players also contain scripts that create cookies in your browser, but without storing your personal details. If you have logged into one of the numerous Google products (Chrome, Gmail, YouTube etc.), Google may – depending on your account settings – process your personal details. You will find more information about this in Google’s Privacy Statements. You yourself can also change these settings in your account at any time.

How do we use cookies?

La Monnaie uses cookies to get statistics of its online visitors. With these statistics, La Monnaie aims to optimize its website functionalities and its communication and advertising strategy on the Internet. La Monnaie uses session cookies, persistent cookies, first-party cookies and third-party cookies or may intend to use such cookies in the future. The access to the cookie-related information is restricted to la Monnaie’s web and promotional department. The cookies are not used for any other purposes than the ones described. La Monnaie does not link its cookie-related information to the offline identity of its visitors. Consent can be withdrawn by deleting your browser’s cookies and caches or by opting out of cookies through any browser extension, add-on, plug-in with such a feature.

How to control cookies?

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

2. Who has access to your data?

Your personal data will not be provided to third parties. Access to personal data by others only occurs in relation to a service provided to La Monnaie: we discuss this with our software and hosting providers, payment partners, and IT service providers.

Provision only applicable when purchasing a Troika Pass:

To be able to grant you the Troika Pass discount, we share your name, email adress and preferred language with the Théâtre National and the KVS. Your data will only be used for the Troika Pass and will not be distributed further.

These data will be stored by our partners for as long as your Troika Pass is valid and will be deleted immediately after it has expired.

La Monnaie and its partners take all the appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

3. Where is your data stored?

Your payment data is stored within the European Union. For our ticketing system, we work with a hosting partner that guarantees the privacy of your data. Other personal data is stored within the European Union or in the United States, on the condition that our provider has declared that it complies with the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework.

4. What are your rights?

You have, at all times, the right to access and correct your personal data.

You can modify your data yourself on our ticketing website via our sales page. Once you have logged in, you can modify your profile. You can also ask the ticketing bureau to make modifications, by post (MM Tickets – rue Léopold 23 Leopoldstraat – 1000 Brussels), by telephone via +32 (0)2 229 12 11, or by e-mail to tickets@demunt.be.

You can modify the personal data we keep in our e-mail system yourself by clicking on ‘Update your preferences’ at the bottom of an e-mail you have received. You can also unsubscribe from a mailing list by clicking on ‘Unsubscribe’ at the bottom of an e-mail you have received. La Monnaie will, after a certain period, delete the data of anyone who has unsubscribed.

If you want a complete overview of the data we hold on you, you can contact us via privacy@lamonnaie.be.

5. Do you have questions or complaints?

For any questions or complaints in relation to your personal data and the protection of your privacy, you may contact us via privacy@lamonnaie.be.

If you are dissatisfied with the way La Monnaie deals with your privacy, you can contact the Data Protection Authority, which is Belgium’s supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection.

Any changes to our privacy policy will be announced on this page. We recommend that you consult this page regularly. This privacy statement was last changed on 17 May 2018.
