10 productions to discover on Auvio & VRT MAX
La Monnaie, RTBF Auvio, VRT MAX, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège are bringing opera productions to streaming platforms. A total of 10 performances are available from the comfort of your living room!
From La Monnaie, you can watch on Auvio the highly acclaimed production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, directed by Romeo Castellucci, the production of Verdi’s Aida, directed by Stathis Livathinos and conducted by Alain Altinoglu, José van Dam's last opera performance in Massenet's Don Quichotte ; and on VRT MAX, Antonín Dvořák’s marvellous Rusalka, in Stefan Herheim’s sumptuous production, and Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, with which we recently opened the opera season.
Meanwhile, our colleagues at Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège are presenting on Auvio Verdi’s La traviata, directed by Thaddeus Strassberger (who made his debut at La Monnaie this year with Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini), Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, directed by Olivier Lepelletier-Leeds, and finally, Bellini’s La sonnambula in a unique production by filmmaker Jaco Van Dormael and choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey. Meanwhile, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen is presenting Mozart’s Don Giovanni, directed by Tom Goossens, and Wim Henderickx’s De bekeerlinge, produced by visual artist Hans Op de Beeck, on VRT MAX.

Are you abroad?
Performances on Auvio or VRT MAX are only accessible from within Belgium. If you’d like to watch our productions from abroad, you can do so via La Monnaie’s website. Several of our operas are available there for six weeks, starting 10 days after the final live performance. From Monday 26 October, you’ll be able to watch Roméo et Juliette.
