Opera is about people. From artists on and off the stage to technicians, workshops, administration, front-of-house staff and volunteers: it is thanks to everyone’s passion that we can keep bringing you unforgettable moments. To continue supporting all this work, we need strong shoulders more than ever. That is why we are relaunching the Friends, through two formulas that not only bring you closer to La Monnaie and its artists, but also allow you to make a real difference.

As a member of the Friends community, you support the growth journey of young singers and makers. Within the MM Academy, they receive professional guidance; as MM Soloists, they are given their first real opportunities on stage; and as MM Laureates, they are prepared for their breakthrough into larger roles and other opera houses.
In return, as a Friend, you enjoy a front-row seat throughout the year to follow that growth up close, with a Friends concert as the highlight. OPERA MAKER
YOU DON’T JUST SEE THE RESULT, YOU HELP MAKE IT POSSIBLE.
Between the first idea for a production and the final result on stage, there are often more than two years of intense work. What begins as a dream of an artistic team takes shape in our set, costume and props workshops, and is ultimately brought to life for you by singers, orchestra, choir and stage technicians.
As an Opera Maker, you support one specific production each season that is fully created at La Monnaie (in the 2026–27 season: La Cenerentola). You follow the creative process of this Opera Maker production up close. In addition, you enjoy, among other things, invitations to premiere receptions, complimentary programme booklets and many other benefits.
