Gianni Schicchi

Watch Puccini’s comedy from the stage!

Presentation

A once in a lifetime opera experience

Want to experience opera in a unique, interactive way? La Monnaie gives you the chance to see Gianni Schicchi, the final part of Giacomo Puccini's triptych Il trittico, from the stage! You get to experience the action just a handful of meters away from the singers, and to be immersed in the opera's wonderful music – including the immortal aria 'O mio babbino caro'. On top of that, you enjoy a unique backstage tour before taking part in the performance yourself! A crowd warmer will give you cues as to when you may laugh, boo, or applaud - just like in a television soap opera recording.

We welcome you with drinks and appetizers at La Monnaie's Workshops for an exclusive introduction to the performance and your role in the opera. Then we will lead you through the tunnel that connects the Workshops with the Theatre to the stage, where we hope you’ll be overwhelmed by the magic of this performance.
