Discover the craftsmanship at the heart of opera by taking part in the creation of a huge Christmas tree!
This year, La Monnaie is preparing a rather special project for Winter Wonders: an imposing and original Christmas tree to adorn the Place de la Monnaie. The installation will take the form of an 8-metre-high structure from which nine smaller trees will hang, each representing one of the many Workshops at La Monnaie. A golden opportunity to share with you the technical craftmanship hiding behind the magic of opera.
During four cosy workshop days in November and December, we invite you to take part in the creation of these trees and learn techniques from a specific craft, ranging from carpentry to sewing, upholstery and metal work.
The number of places available per workshop is limited, so be sure to book quickly. During the lunch break, we happily offer you a free sandwich and hot drinks.
