This contest is organized by the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg / Théâtre royal de la Monnaie, Muntplein 5 / Place de la Monnaie 5, 1000 Brussels (hereinafter “the Organizer”).
2. Duration
The contest runs from 5 September 2025 at 3:00 p.m. until 19 October 2025 at 11:59 p.m. via the Organizer’s website (this web page).
3. Conditions of Participation
Participation is free of charge and without any purchase obligation.
Participants must be at least 18 years old. Minors may only participate with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Only one entry per person and per email address is valid. In case of multiple entries, only the first submission will be considered.
Employees of the Organizer and their family members are excluded from participation.
4. How the Contest Works
Participants complete the questionnaire on the landing page and register with a valid email address.
The questions are:
Question 1 (knowledge question): In which year did Gio Paolo Bombarda establish the first Théâtre de la Monnaie: 1250, 1700 or 2010?
Question 2 (tie-breaker question): How many correct answers to the above question will have been submitted by 19 October at 11:59 p.m.?
Only participants who answer Question 1 correctly are eligible for the prize.
5. Selection of the Winner
The winner is the participant who answers Question 1 correctly and comes closest to the correct answer to Question 2.
If several participants are equally close, the prize goes to the participant who submitted their entry first.
The Organizer’s decision is final and binding.
6. Prize
The prize consists of one Lyrical subscription for the 2025–2026 season (more info: subscription page), for two persons in first category, excluding the opera Falstaff (already performed). This subscription includes 6 opera performances (Ali, Norma, Benvenuto Cellini, Idomeneo, Tosca, Medusa).
The prize is strictly personal, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or other benefits.
7. Winner Announcement
The winner will be personally contacted by the Organizer by email on 20 October 2025. If the winner does not respond within 7 calendar days, the Organizer reserves the right to award the prize to the next eligible participant according to the ranking in Article 5.
