... where we meet Elizabeth Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII and future Queen of England. On the eve of her coronation, the three Narrators give us a glimpse into the history of England in the 16th century – Elizabeth’s history, in other words. The execution of her mother Anne Boleyn makes the young Elizabeth a bastard. But when her half-sister Mary Tudor dies, Elizabeth still accedes to the throne... The presence of the young Elizabeth and the inner voice of the adult Elizabeth place the latter in a constant confrontation with herself.
