184 different nationalities and more than 100 languages spoken: Brussels has to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. So what better place than the Belgian capital to explore the major themes of the opera The Time of Our Singing!
During this open discussion evening, organized in association with Brussels Academy, Hélène Sechehaye (ULB), Marco Martiniello (ULiège), DJ Rokia Bamba, Claron McFadden, Fabrizio Cassol, Laïla Amezian and Leen De Spiegelaere (Zinneke) consider the role music and culture play in forming our identities. How does the diversity of Brussels manifest itself on the city’s socio-cultural scene? How can music contribute to more social cohesion? And which music? Join us and share your ideas in the Fiocco Room on the top floor of the La Monnaie studios.
