Grammy Award-winning tenor Freddie Ballentine and pianist Kunal Lahiry share a commitment to amplifying Black and queer experiences through song. In collaboration with voguing artists from the Belgian ballroom community, they invite listeners on an intrepid musical journey – moving through isolation, damnation, remembrance and revolution – before arriving at their final destination: hope. The programme is as dazzling as its performers: Nina Simone, Franz Schubert, Ricky Ian Gordon, Margaret Bonds and more.
