Due to renovation works, the Monnaie / Munt car park will no longer be accessible from 1 April. The public of La Monnaie will be able to use three other car parks in the city centre, at the same preferential rate.
On 15 February 2024, KU Leuven and UCLouvain awarded their honorary doctorates. One of the three laureates was Bernard Foccroulle, who headed our opera house for fifteen years and who earlier this season presented the world premiere of his opera Cassandra. This prestigious distinction recognizes his extraordinary contribution to the world of culture and his continued commitment to making art accessible to all.
La Monnaie wins Oper! Award for 'Best Future Project'
On 29 January, the National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam hosted the 2024 Oper! Awards. La Monnaie was there to receive the award for 'Best Future Project', for its innovative sustainability policy. For almost 23 years, we have been dedicated to reducing the impact of our activities on the environment, a commitment we have intensified with the launch of our 'Green Opera' programme in 2020.
