Every Friday night this summer, La Trois television channel will whisk you off to the opera! The broadcasts include three performances from La Monnaie.
At 22.45 hrs every Friday evening in July and August, La Trois (operated by RTBF) will present the greatest opera classics of all times in productions bearing the made in Belgium label. The television channel has put together a programme of nine productions in all, including three from La Monnaie.
02.08 Farewell to living legend José Van Dam in the poetical Don Quichotte(Massenet) directed by Laurent Pelly.
09.08 Verdi’s spectacular Egyptian tragedy Aida, as conceived by Stathis Livathinos and conducted by Alain Altinoglu.
23.08 The wry laughter and high drama of Verdi’s Rigoletto, masterfully transported to the world of the circus by Robert Carsen.
