This Thursday 20 January, as part of their 'Viva l'Opéra' programme, three UGC cinemas in Belgium will screen our latest production of Leoš Janáček's masterpiece Jenůfa.
In 2014, La Monnaie presented a new staging of Janáček's Jenůfa by director Alvis Hermanis, and with Sally Matthews, Charles Workman, Nicky Spence, Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet and Carole Wilson in the main roles. This exceptional cast, the beautiful scenography and the lifelike portrayal of a cruel family tragedy received much praise from the press and the public at the time. On Thursday 20 January, this successful production will be shown again at the UGC cinemas in Brussels (De Brouckère), Antwerp and Mechelen, as part of their 'Viva l'Opéra' programme.
