To mark Pride Week, La Monnaie decorates its façade in rainbow colours, to show its unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
For several years now, the month of May has been an opportunity to celebrate tolerance in all its forms in Brussels, notably through the Pride. Unfortunately, the urgency of the message is still high. All over the world, people still suffer violence, exclusion and discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
In the run-up to the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, La Monnaie is showing its support for people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and organisations that defend their rights. In doing so, they bring about a more open society and La Monnaie wants to contribute to this transformation, convinced that culture and education have an essential role to play in it.
