In the 2022-23 season, 11 new European opera productions will be released for free online on Arte Opera. This year’s selection includes our Donizetti dyptich Bastarda, on the life of Elizabeth I, which will be staged at La Monnaie in the spring of 2023.
Every year the pan-European cultural channel Arte Opera releases several new opera productions online for free. Besides this premiere, a wide range of other new productions by directors from La Monnaie's artistic family made the cut: Dmitri Tcherniakov's Der Ring des Nibelungen (Wagner) at the Staatsoper Berlin, Krzysztof Warlikowski's Hamlet (Thomas) at the Paris Opéra and Time of Our Singing-director Ted Huffman's Romeo et Juliette (Gounod) at Oper Zürich.
