Costume sales

Add a touch of opera to your wardrobe

Before being worn by one of our artists on stage, every piece of costume in La Monnaie's operas, from the tops of hats to the heels of shoes, passes through the hands of the artisans who work in our Workshops. Over the years, this has resulted in a costume stock that makes one dream. After all, who has never wanted to dress up in an opera outfit? On Saturday 7 May, this dream can become reality: La Monnaie will be selling a large part of its costumes. An event not to be missed!

For security reasons, the number of people allowed to enter is limited and we will work with several time slots: you can book a maximum of 2 tickets for a specific arrival time between 9:00 and 19:00 (last entry at 17:00). The earlier you arrive, the greater the choice... To make your shopping easier, you will be given a durable fabric bag with the La Monnaie / De Munt logo at the entrance.

  • Which costumes will be sold?
During the sale, you will find many different types of costumes from various La Monnaie productions (Tannhäuser, Aida, Foxie, Lucrezia Borgia, etc.): from shoes and hats to skirts, dresses, trousers and much more!
  • How many items can I buy?
To give as many people as possible the chance to go home with a garment, each visitor can buy a maximum of 8 pieces.
  • Is it possible to try on garments?
Yes, it is! There will be fitting rooms for this purpose.
  • How much do the costumes cost?
The prices of the pieces vary from 1 to 160 euros. You can pay on site using Bancontact, your bank app or, if necessary, cash.
  • Can I walk around freely?
Of course, you can discover all the costumes at your leisure, but in order to ensure a controlled, smooth and safe flow of people, we do ask you to follow a route. It will not be possible to go back on your steps.
