Partnerships and collaborations

Developing new collaborations and partnerships with various organisations is an integral part of La Monnaie's sustainability approach:

  • In 2022, we joined the steering committee of Opera Europa's sustainability forum. This forum brings together professionals involved in sustainability issues.
  • Since 2019, La Monnaie has been part of the Collectif 17h25, which also includes the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, the Paris Opera, the Opéra de Lyon, and the Théâtre du Châtelet. The members of this collective aim to improve and strengthen their sustainability practices through innovation and by pooling their human, technical and financial resources. They also aim to promote their values in the arts industry and help share best practice within it. La Monnaie has been coordinating the Collective since May 2021.
  • In February 2023, La Monnaie joined the Coalition for Sustainable Business Travel launched by Bond Beter Leefmilieu, with the aim of sharing best practice and defining a theatre-specific travel policy by 2023.
  • La Monnaie is a member of the Brussels Arts Network (RAB/BKO) and participates in its work on sustainability in the arts industry, and is also a member of Belgian sustainable development network "The Shift".
