La Monnaie wishes you a pleasant summer!
With your support, La Monnaie can stand proudly on the podium and get nominated for the FEDORA Generali Prize for Opera Shortlist!
Every year, the FEDORA Prizes support the creation of new opera and ballet productions.
This year, Le Silence des ombres – a world premiere by French composer Benjamin Attahir, directed by Olivier Lexa with lyrics by Maurice Maeterlinck, commissioned by La Monnaie, and performing in September 2019 – is selected in the Opera shortlist and could well win the FEDORA Prize worth € 150,000.
The La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra at the ‘Festival International de Colmar’
From July 5 to 7, the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra will perform three concerts at the ‘Festival International de Colmar’, a prestigious music festival under the artistic direction of Alain Altinoglu.
The music world is in mourning. On Sunday 16 June, the Belgian soprano Jodie Devos, one the greatest opera talents of her generation, passed away from breast cancer at the age of 35.
