La Monnaie opens its doors to students during the winter exam period
In collaboration with BRIK, the central point of contact for students in Brussels, La Monnaie welcomes 120 youngsters to revise in its Entrance hall and MM Bar.

Shortlisted for the Fedora Prize in the Opera category is our production The Time of our Singing, which will have its world première in September 2021. Every year the European support platform Fedora awards a number of prizes for innovative art projects. This year La Monnaie is in with a good chance of winning with The Time of Our Singing, the latest opera by the Belgian composer Kris Defoort. Based on the novel of the same name by Richard Powers, it is a gripping family saga about identity, art and civil rights in a compelling symbiosis of jazz and classical.
