Every year the European support platform Fedora awards a number of prizes for innovative art projects. This year La Monnaie is in with a good chance of winning with The Time of Our Singing, the latest opera by the Belgian composer Kris Defoort. Based on the novel of the same name by Richard Powers, it is a gripping family saga about identity, art and civil rights in a compellingsymbiosis of jazz and classical.

La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra makes its debut at the Salzburg Festival
